Pierre&Marie are a couple, a male and a female version of sofas born from the same concept.
Designed for the italian copany D3co, the collection took shape thinking about what a sofa is, how and why it was born and how it evolved over times.
What do we do on sofas nowadays together with relaxing? We work on our computers, eat breakfast, watch movies, read books or call friends, everything in perfect comfort. Often, however, there is not a specific space for these objects and the softness of the sofa could even become an obstacle for all these extra activities. The compromise is usually an uncomfortable side table, often too distant to lean computers, a cup of tea or switch on an additional light.
Pierre&Marie combine sofa’s cushions with useful wooden surfaces in different sizes and finishes.
Considering the smaller apartment dimensions, the two sofas include storage space under the seats.
Marie, the female version, has a rounded shape, strong colors and a great attention to details. The pleat positioned on the edge of the backrests and arms is an elegant particular, like a cocktail dress for special evenings.
Pierre is more masculine: elegant, with straights and simpler shapes, almost edgy without losing the feeling of comfort. Neutral colors make it more sober, a modern classic.
